Quality Inspector (NIGHT SHIFT) – Baylis Medical – Mississauga, ON.

Night Shift Schedule: Monday to Thursday
Starting: 7pm Ending: 5:30am EST (subject to change)

Overview

The Quality Inspector is responsible for the inspection of parts, products, components and/or materials throughout manufacturing from incoming suppliers and subcontractors to work in-progress to final inspection. The Quality Inspector is responsible for the review, approval and release of product and material batches in the facility.

Snapshot of Responsibilities:

Ensure incoming material meet specifications using standard measurement instruments to ensure conformance with quality management system standards.
Ensure documentation meets specifications to ensure conformance with quality management system standards by working closely with the receiving and buyer teams. Conduct, product processing and Review of Batch Records
Maintain records of inspection for all items inspected; Document and report all quality issues on non-conforming material report
Make recommendations to supervisor for improvements to inspection methods/techniques or work environment
Ensure proper storage, handling and labelling of items within Inspection Areas
Comply with the Health & Safety policies of the company and inform management of unsafe working conditions

What you bring to the team

  • Minimum high school diploma with 3-5 years previous experience, Mechanical Technologist/Engineering degree
  • Previous experience in Quality Inspection and Metrology is required. This includes previous experience with measuring equipment and a general knowledge of inspection procedures
  • competent with use of a computer, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings to determine part dimensions and tolerances working knowledge of GD&T Good record keeping and organizational skills
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
